James L. Tomson, 90, of St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Whitcomb Towers in St. Joseph where he resided.
Arrangements are entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, St. Joseph. Private burial will take place on the family plot at Ellis Cemetery in Bellevue, Michigan. Jim was born November 8, 1924 in Kenosha, Wisconsin to John & Belle (Kinyon) Tomson. He received his Master’s Degree in Education and was a teacher at Niles Township High School in Skokie, Illinois for more than 30 years. After retirement, Jim moved to St. Joseph, where he was employed for 19 years at Area Agency on Aging. On July 15, 2015, he married Robert Thorman in St. Joseph, after being together for 57 years. Together they enjoyed traveling, especially to Europe. Jim was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge #509 in Paw Paw.
Jim is survived by his husband Robert. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Howard Tomson, and a dear friend Mary Scocos.
