Marvin R. Priebe, 80, of Benton Harbor, passed away Friday, July 3, 2015 at Caretel Inns of Lakeland in St. Joseph.
Celebration of Life Services will be held 11:30 A.M. Thursday, July 9, at Crystal Springs Church of God, 1465 Pipestone Rd., Benton Harbor, with Rev. Fred Davey officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Friends may visit with the family from 10:30 until 11:30 A.M. Thursday at the Church. Marvin was born June 2, 1935 in Benton Harbor to Edwin & Louise (Kerlikowski) Priebe. He graduated from Coloma High School, class of 1953. Marv operated the family fruit & vegetable farm on Paul Ave. in Benton Harbor for many years. He also spent more than twenty years with Pri-Mar Petroleum as a delivery driver. On June 12, 1982, he married the former Joan Kiessling Zachary in Benton Harbor. Marv was a member of Crystal Springs Church of God. He enjoyed traveling to Northern Michigan in the fall with his wife Joanie to enjoy the color and beauty of God’s Creation, farming & gardening, canning the fruits & vegetables that he had grown, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Marv is survived by his children-Douglas (Tonya) Priebe of Coloma, Terri (Dan) Ward of Hockley, TX, Tamara Sperry-Roberts and her husband Tim Roberts of Comfort, TX; two step-sons-Alan Zachary of Benton Harbor, Andrew (Linda) Zachary of Stevensville; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; his brother Kenneth Priebe of Florida, his mother-in-law Dorothy Hanes of St. Joseph; and special friends Jim Williamson & Dave Piner of Benton Harbor. He was preceded in death by his wife Joanie on January 19, 2010.
